Setup funding consortium for a hydrogen heavy duty transport hub in Lübeck

Regional companies want to save more than 2,000 tons of CO2 with green hydrogen in freight transport
As part of the promotion of sustainable mobility, the construction of a publicly accessible hydrogen refuelling station is being driven forward in Lübeck. The aim of the project is to establish a sustainable refuelling infrastructure for hydrogen vehicles in northern Germany. The planned refuelling station is designed for 350 bar and 700 bar refuelling and enables both commercial vehicles and cars to be supplied with green hydrogen. It is located in the Roggenhorst commercial and industrial area in Lübeck and is therefore conveniently connected to the A1/A20 motorway junction. The project represents an important building block for the local hydrogen economy in Schleswig-Holstein, as it closes a gap for the partners on the European Scan-Med corridor on the A1 motorway towards Scandinavia.
The project received funding of 5.1 million euros from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport as part of the KsNI directive (‘Climate-friendly commercial vehicles and infrastructure’) for its realisation in 2022.
