Hydrogen hub with production, distribution and consumer infrastructure

The Rügen-Stralsund HyPerformer project aims to establish a central hydrogen hub in the Vorpommern-Rügen region and the Hanseatic city of Stralsund, covering the entire value chain from the production and distribution to the use of hydrogen. On April 26, 2023, Rügen-Stralsund was announced as the winning region of HyPerformer II, marking the transition to the third and highest funding stage. The project has a total volume of around 25 million euros, of which 15 million euros are funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV). The core measures are the integration of hydrogen into the transport sector, including the purchase of twelve hydrogen buses for local public transport and the use of fuel cell trucks by local transport companies. In addition, a production plant for green hydrogen is to be built.

Hypion GmbH is a key partner in the Rügen-Stralsund HyPerformer project, which aims to establish a regional hydrogen economy. Within this framework, Hypion is taking on various tasks along the entire hydrogen value chain. With these comprehensive services, Hypion is making a decisive contribution to the successful implementation of the HyPerformer project and supporting the Rügen-Stralsund region on its way to a sustainable hydrogen economy.
