Hydrogen replaces natural gas in the production process

In a feasibility study for the medium-sized industrial company Pano Verschluss GmbH at the Itzehoe site, Hypion GmbH investigated the extent to which the natural gas required for the production process can be replaced by renewable hydrogen in a drying process. Based on a demand analysis, both the technical requirements of a possible local or external H₂ supply and the associated legal framework parameters for implementation were considered. In addition, the economic dimension of various implementation scenarios was analyzed in order to create a sound basis for decision-making, taking into account the market risks and opportunities. Thanks to Hypion’s input, Pano was then able to successfully carry out a field test, laying the foundation for further project development.
